Any AP10s that have firmware older than version 4.5 need to be addressed prior to upgrading to viewLinc 5.2. Most AP10s can be upgraded to a compatible firmware version, but some older AP10s cannot and will need to be replaced.
There are 2 ways to verify an AP10’s hardware version:
  • On the AP10 touch screen:
    1. Navigate to the Info screen of the AP10.
    2. Check the Hardware version to determine if it is G or newer.
  • In the AP10 Web user interface:
    1. Enter the IP address of the AP10 into the address bar of a web browser and log in.
    2. Go to the System Summary screen.
    3. Check the Hardware version to determine if it is G or newer.

AP10s with hardware revision G and newer can be upgraded directly through the device’s web user interface.

AP10s with hardware version F cannot be upgraded and must be replaced before migrating to viewLinc Enterprise Server version 5.2.
