The WindCube Offshore Lidar is used for wind profile measurement from 40 meters to 300 meters vertically. Four beams are sent successively in four cardinal directions along a 28° cone angle, followed by a fifth vertical beam.

20 different range gates are simultaneously measured using the laser pulse time of flight allowing measuring the wind speed and direction at 20 different heights at same time.

The WindCube Offshore Lidar has been designed by Vaisala particularly for buoy/vessel as well as fixed installations in offshore environments. Small size, low consumption, robust construction, easy to maintain, accurate and reliable, the device is designed for the user. On this basis, the WindCube Offshore system proved its performances as a reference for metrological, technological and functional side.

WindCube systems are successfully used today since years on- and offshore for wind resource assessment and wind turbine performance assessment all over the world.
